Even if you're a beginner watercolor artist, I encourage you to take on this rewarding challenge. This is the 5th class in my comprehensive watercolor portrait series, building upon skills covered in previous classes like sketching portraits and mixing skin tones in watercolor.

In this class, we'll skip the initial sketching and jump straight into painting! We'll focus on building depth and dimension through strategic layering, similar to our watercolor eye painting techniques. I'll provide reference sketches and a final portrait for guidance, but feel free to use your own sketch or trace the provided references.

We'll also recap essential watercolor techniques and practice applying them to build shading and values on the face. Learn to effectively utilize the 3 P's: Plan, Prep, Paint for a more structured approach. While we won't delve deeply into color theory, we'll cover basic color mixing to achieve accurate skin tones.
