Start investing - for children aged 8-14

Starting early with investing is key to a secure financial future! This course is designed for adults and children aged 8-14 to learn about building wealth together.

We break down the fundamentals of investing into two parts: a child-focused section and a parent-focused section.

For Children (Ages 8-14):

• Understanding Money: Learn what money is and why it's important.
• The Impact of Inflation: Discover how inflation can reduce the value of your money.
• Why Invest? Understand the power of investing to grow your money over time.
• Diversification Explained: Learn how spreading your investments can lower risk.
• Introduction to Stocks (Shares): What are shares and how can they potentially increase in value?
• Bonds: Lending Money for Returns: Explore how bonds allow you to earn by lending to companies and governments.
• Mutual Funds: Diversified Investing: Discover how funds offer a way to invest in a variety of assets.
• Building Your First Portfolio: Learn the basics of creating a simple investment portfolio.

For Parents:

• Junior ISA Setup (UK): Learn how to open a Junior ISA for your child.
• Transferring Existing Accounts: Understand how to transfer a Junior ISA or Child Trust Fund.
• Investment Basics: Get an introduction to stocks, bonds, and funds.

The children's course is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, with chapters designed to be 20-30 minutes long, focusing on one topic at a time. We recommend watching one chapter per session and discussing what you've learned as a family – perhaps during dinner!

This course is intended for adults over 18. It is designed to be watched and learned alongside children.
