Byzantine Iconography Painting Series 2: Hair and Beards 2

Continue your artistic exploration with Welcome Painting Series 2 Part 2, delving deeper into the fascinating world of Byzantine Iconography. In this installment, you'll master the techniques for painting realistic hair and beards, building upon the foundational skills learned in previous parts.

This series is designed for artists of all levels, but we recommend completing Series 1 (Drawing Faces) and Part 1 (Painting Basics) before starting to ensure a solid understanding of fundamental principles. Part 2 is structured into three manageable sections, making it easy to learn and practice.

Building on the skills of painting simple short hair and beards (like those seen in depictions of St. Dimitrios and Christ), this part focuses on creating long hair and long beards. Prepare to refine your skills and achieve more detailed and expressive results. Part 3 will cover curly hair and grey hair and beards.
