Discover Agustín Barrios Mangoré's "The Cathedral" for Classical Guitar

Explore the captivating world of Agustín Barrios Mangoré (Paraguay, 1885-1944, El Salvador), widely regarded as Paraguay's greatest classical guitarist and composer. The second movement, Andante, and the third movement, Allegro, were inspired by the Cathedral of Montevideo, Uruguay (where Bach was performed on the organ) and composed in 1921. The Preludio was inspired by the Cathedral of Havana, Cuba, and composed in 1938.

• Allegro (Third Movement): Captures the lingering emotions and footsteps of people leaving the cathedral after prayer.
• Preludio (First Movement): A prelude with the subtitle "Saudade" (nostalgia).
