About Your Instructor: Michael Trew

Michael Trew is a full-time origami artist and paper designer with over 25 years of experience. His passion for paper folding began at age 6, and he launched Papershake Origami at 16, creating unique designs for a diverse range of clients, including Mizuho Bank, American Express, and Oasis. After time spent in Japan, Michael returned to the UK and expanded Papershake Origami into a full-time business.

For the past nine years, he's worked on exciting projects such as stop-frame animations for TV commercials, shop window displays for Michael Kors and Clarkes on Oxford Street, and models for The Economist's "Year in" publication. Since lockdown, Michael has transitioned to online teaching, leading engaging virtual origami workshops for team building, online events, and virtual conferences with clients like Google, Paypal, Trustpilot, and Facebook.
