ServiceNow Delta Exam: Stay Current with Your Certification

Mainline ServiceNow certifications require periodic updates to ensure you're proficient with the latest platform releases. This is where the ServiceNow Delta Exam comes in. If you hold a mainline ServiceNow certification and didn't take the certification exam for the most recent release, Xanadu, you'll need to complete the delta exam.

Xanadu Delta Exam Period: January 15, 2025 – April 15, 2025.

Exam Details:

• Typically consists of 20 or fewer questions.
• Open book, non-proctored, and timed (1-1.5 hours).
• Focuses specifically on ServiceNow updates introduced in the Xanadu release.

Annual Maintenance Fee:

A $200 fee is required during the delta exam period. ServiceNow Partner organizations can pay a reduced fee of $100. This fee applies to mainline certification holders who have held their certification for 1 year or longer. Crucially, this fee is only applicable if you’ve held at least one mainline ServiceNow certification for a full year by the maintenance fee start date.

Who Needs to Take the Delta Exam?

You must take the delta exam if you didn’t take the certification exam for the latest ServiceNow release (Xanadu). To check your certification status and if you're at risk, log in to Now Learning, navigate to "My Certifications," and look for "At Risk." If indicated, take the delta exam before the exam period ends.

Exam Attempts:

You are allowed up to 5 attempts to pass the delta exam.

What Happens After April 15, 2025?

If you fail the delta exam or don't pay the maintenance fee (if applicable) by the deadline, your certification will expire, and you'll need to retake the original certification exam.
