We address the differences between Western Reiki and Japanese Reiki, drawing on the expertise of Masaki Nishina, Jikiden Reiki Master and Ph.D. in physics. Nishina's research, detailed in his book Reiki and Japan, reveals how the practice of Reiki evolved after World War II, becoming westernized and diverging from its traditional roots. Specifically, the Dai Ko Myo symbol did not exist in traditional Japanese Reiki.

This theoretical course follows the guidance of leading Reiki Masters to present the technique as close to its original form as possible. We also clarify the origins of chakras, emphasizing that they are an Indian concept, not part of the original Japanese or Chinese practices.
