Practical tools for inclusive and impactful project design

Discover how to design impactful projects with a human-centered design approach! This course, led by Rachael from Earth Empower, a women-owned and women-led consulting firm, equips you with the tools and knowledge to create truly effective initiatives.

Go beyond traditional project management and learn to solve complex problems by embracing diverse perspectives. We'll explore why involving end-users and a wide range of stakeholders from the outset is crucial for innovative, creative, and resilient solutions. This human-centered design method puts the end-user at the heart of the process, fostering equitable power dynamics and boosting project success rates.

The curriculum guides you through a practical seven-step process:

• Identifying and engaging the right people: Learn how to effectively involve and facilitate participation from key stakeholders.
• Root cause analysis: Master techniques to deeply understand the core of a problem before developing solutions.
• Practical Application: Each step is illustrated with a recurring example: a community climate resilience project in Kenya, complete with downloadable formats.
• Real-world examples: See how these principles apply to the private sector with a parallel example from a tea company.

By the end of this course, you'll be able to confidently transform an initial idea into a fully validated project design, culminating in a professional concept note or compelling pitch deck. We'll also address real-world challenges and provide strategies for navigating time and resource constraints, ensuring your projects are feasible and successful.
