How JazzKids Fosters Improvisation:

• Rhythm: A strong rhythmic foundation is crucial for compelling piano improvisation. JazzKids emphasizes rhythm reading and vocalization, enabling students to internalize rhythms and apply them to their own improvisations and compositions. Learn to "sing" a rhythm and then play it!
• Ear Training: Develop your musical ear with targeted ear training exercises. JazzKids helps students discern subtle differences in rhythm and melody, improving their critical listening skills for more expressive improvisation.
• The Song: JazzKids pieces are designed to inspire creativity. Students are encouraged to adapt and personalize the music, changing notes and even creating their own compositions based on the provided framework.
• Improvisation Exercises: JazzKids provides structured improvisation exercises that go beyond simply learning scales. Receive written examples, fun play-along tracks, and guided coaching to overcome the challenges of starting to improvise at the piano.
