Photography as Healing: Creating Empowering Self-Portraits

Unlock Your Creative Potential: A Guide to Powerful Self-Portraits

Are you a photographer ready to explore a new dimension of your artistry? Often, we focus on capturing the world around us – clients, families, and friends – but what about capturing yourself? This course delves into the transformative power of self-portraiture, offering a pathway to greater vulnerability and profound self-development.

With six years of experience in the photography industry, I've discovered that incorporating emotion into your work is key to creating art that resonates deeply with your audience. Beyond artistic expression, exploring your own image can be a powerful part of your healing journey. My personal project, "Self Portrait Sunday," exemplifies this – a journey of self-discovery and documentation that fundamentally shifted my perspective.

In this class, you'll transition from technical photographer to visual storyteller, harnessing vulnerability as a powerful artistic tool. I'll share the practical tips and techniques that guided my growth in this space. Learn how to:

• Utilize vulnerability and emotion to infuse your self-portraits with depth and authenticity.
• Source inspiration, plan, and execute compelling self-portrait shoots.
• Master post-processing with Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop to bring your self-portraits to life.

This course is ideal for creatives seeking to express emotion and vulnerability in their work and develop their skills as visual storytellers. All you need is a camera – your smartphone is perfectly adequate! – and a willingness to embrace your creativity and courage. Let's embark on this journey of self-discovery and artistic expression together.
