Photography And The Simple Art of Visual Story-Telling

Discover the art of photography, simplified! This course breaks down the fundamentals, making it perfect for smartphone photography enthusiasts and anyone looking to improve their visual storytelling.

Forget confusing technical jargon like apertures, f-stops, and ISO. We focus on the core principles of photo storytelling, translating photography into a universal language everyone can understand.

Developed from a presentation created during nine years as a national photo editor with ABC News Online (Australia), this course is designed for all levels – from complete beginners to seasoned photographers. Whether you're a smartphone user, aspiring photographer, or simply want to capture better moments, you'll learn to see photos in a new light.

We explore how photos function as visual narratives, structured like stories, using the same powerful techniques. Expect lots of visual examples to illustrate key concepts.

This approach has been praised by audiences at schools, universities, and camera clubs. You'll learn to think creatively about composition and visual impact, applying principles that transcend camera type. The same storytelling techniques apply whether you're using a smartphone or a professional DSLR.

Remember, photography should be fun! Don't be afraid to experiment, make mistakes, and learn from them. Delete, re-shoot, and enjoy the process of capturing compelling images. Unlock your potential and elevate your photo skills today!
