Paul and His Letter to the Romans: Part Two (Romans 6-11)

Delve deeper into Paul's powerful letter with Romans: Part Two, the second installment in a comprehensive three-part course exploring the entirety of Paul's Epistle to the Romans. This in-depth study, designed to take approximately fifteen weeks, continues where Part One left off, focusing on a detailed exegesis of Romans 6:1-11:36.

Building upon the foundations laid in the previous section, this course emphasizes the central theme of God's nature throughout the letter. We will grapple with profound questions such as:

• Why do we struggle to live according to God's grace, even when it's freely offered?
• Does Romans 7 accurately depict the Christian walk?
• What is Paul's argument regarding condemnation for those in Christ Jesus?
• How do Romans 9-11 connect to the preceding chapters, and what does this reveal about God's promises to Israel?

This course utilizes Professor N.T. Wright's insightful commentary from the Paul for Everyone series (John Knox Press US & SPCK UK) as our primary textbook. The course structure incorporates a variety of learning methods:

• Engaging lectures by Professor Wright
• Quizzes to reinforce understanding
• Thought-provoking student discussions
• Direct interaction with co-instructor Professor David Seemuth
• Thorough textbook readings
• Close engagement with the biblical text itself

If you're eager to explore the challenging and rewarding themes within this pivotal letter and gain a deeper understanding of Paul's theology, we invite you to enroll in Romans: Part Two. This course offers a unique opportunity to explore the complexities of faith, grace, and God's plan for humanity.
