Nutrition In Plants Chapter 1 Class 7 Science

Delve into the fascinating world of plant nutrition and food synthesis with this comprehensive course! Discover how plants make their own food through the remarkable process of photosynthesis.

This course explores the fundamental reasons why all organisms require nourishment and differentiates between parasitic organisms and saprotrophic organisms. You'll gain hands-on experience by learning how to test for starch in leaves, a key indicator of photosynthesis.

We'll journey through the photosynthesis process in green plants, uncovering the vital role of chlorophyll and the crucial exchange of gases. Understand how plants are the ultimate source of food for many ecosystems, supported by engaging visuals and detailed sketches.

Key concepts covered include:

• Autotrophs vs. Heterotrophs: Learn the difference between organisms that produce their own food and those that consume others.
• The vital role of chlorophyll in capturing sunlight.
• The importance of stomata (leaf pores) in gas exchange.
• Food storage mechanisms in plants.

Explore diverse plant types, including fascinating parasitic plants like Cuscuta and partially autotrophic plants.

Reinforce your learning with interactive exercises:

• Fill-in-the-blank activities
• Matching activities
• True/False evaluations
• Multiple-choice questions

Finally, we'll examine practical applications, such as the benefits of large-scale greenhouse farming for increased agricultural productivity and crop yields. This course provides a solid foundation in plant biology and the essential processes that sustain life on Earth.
