Discover Two Unique Acrylic Painting Approaches

This course unveils two distinct approaches to modern acrylic painting. You'll learn to create captivating artwork through two engaging compositions: "Orange Zebra" and "Best Friends." This project is both creative and intriguing in its structure and color palette. We'll focus on impactful simplicity, using a limited number of elements to emphasize mood and inner strength.

What You'll Learn:

• Essential Art Materials: We'll start with a lecture detailing the minimal materials needed for this acrylic painting course. You'll be surprised how little you actually need!
• "Orange Zebra" - A Step-by-Step Guide: This project begins with a characteristic sketch using a simple black marker to capture the subject's character and expression. You'll then learn decorative painting secrets:
  • Creating a compelling background.
  • Developing a strong silhouette.
  • Identifying the most expressive lines.
• "Best Friends" - Combining Graphic and Color: This piece is built on a graphic sketch using thick drawing paper. Marker lines are intentionally left visible, adding character. Acrylic paint splashes then emphasize dynamism and enhance the composition's expressiveness.
• Coloring & Shading Techniques: After drying, the artwork is refined with soft colored pencils, utilizing shading and blending techniques to add depth.
• Creating a Series: The "Best Friends" composition is designed to complement the "Orange Zebra," allowing you to create a cohesive pair. Feel free to expand this concept! Consider creating a third piece, like "Owls," to build a beautiful triptych.
• Finishing & Presentation: Learn how to properly sign and optionally varnish your artwork for richer, more vibrant colors. We'll also cover framing techniques for paper-based pieces under glass.
