Mixed Media Techniques for Illustrators: Enhance Your Art

In this course, I'll reveal my professional process as an illustrator, demonstrating how to leverage mixed media for detailed, realistic artwork. As a freelancer, efficient workflow is crucial, especially under deadlines. Strategically selecting, combining, and layering different media is a powerful tool for overcoming artistic challenges and achieving your desired aesthetic.

For example, I might start with a quick, broad wash of color using watercolor. To add refined detail and create light-and-shadow effects, I'll layer colored pencils on top. For textural softness, I incorporate soft pastels, and finally, use gouache for opaque highlights.
