Learn Classic 2D Animation.

Animation isn't just about creating visually appealing drawings; it's about bringing those drawings to life through compelling movement. While anyone can start with a pencil and paper or explore animation software, crafting believable and engaging animation requires a solid understanding of fundamental animation principles. I'm Yakir, a 2D character animator and director, and I'll guide you through the core elements that captivate audiences, even in feature films filled with animated characters.

In this course, you'll master these essential animation principles:

• Timing and Spacing: Learn how to control the pace and rhythm of your animation for maximum impact.
• Secondary Action: Discover how to add subtle movements that enhance character believability and realism.
• Anticipation: Understand the importance of preparing the audience for an action, making movements feel natural.
• Squash and Stretch: Explore how to use exaggeration to convey weight, volume, and impact.
• Walks: Master the art of creating convincing and varied character walks.
• Acting: Bring your characters to life with expressive movements and emotions.

Each principle is explained in a dedicated video, complete with visual examples and a fun assignment to practice what you've learned. Ready to unlock the magic of 2D animation and create dynamic, engaging characters? Let's begin your journey into the world of character animation today!
