Job Seeking & Acquisition - Preparing for Adulthood

Welcome! I'm Kelsey Karr, and I created this course, "Job Seeking & Acquisition - Preparing for Adulthood," with a specific focus on supporting young adults aging out of the foster care system.

I developed this program after extensive research, including a comprehensive literature review, highlighting a critical gap: many youth transitioning from foster care lack the preparation and resources needed for successful adulthood. Often, legally mandated support systems aren't consistently available, leaving young people feeling overwhelmed and unprepared.

This course aims to bridge that gap by providing practical skills and knowledge centered around job seeking strategies and career development. Whether you are currently in the foster care system or simply navigating the transition to independence, this course offers valuable tools and resources.

Inside, you'll find:

• Instructional Videos: Learn at your own pace with engaging video lessons.
• Interactive Activities & Assignments: Apply what you learn through hands-on exercises.
• Comprehensive Resources: Access a wealth of supplementary materials to support your journey.

My goal, driven by my doctoral capstone project, is to empower young adults with the confidence and skills to thrive. I'm dedicated to educating and creating opportunities for a brighter future. This course will equip you with the necessary tools for successful job acquisition and a confident transition to adulthood.
