Intermediate Midrash in the New Testament

Unlock Deeper Meaning: An Introduction to Haggadah & Midrash

Discover the power of midrash, a unique Jewish interpretive tradition rooted in the Hebrew word darash, meaning to diligently search for hidden meaning. The biblical verse in Deuteronomy 4:29 – "You will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him IF you search [דרשׁ] for Him with all your heart and all your soul" – highlights the essence of this approach. Midrash teaches us that understanding God and His Word requires active exploration and a sincere desire for connection.

This course focuses on Haggadah, a specific type of midrash that retells stories from the Hebrew Scriptures and connects them to contemporary life. You'll learn how Haggadah provides practical insights and guidance for personal growth.

Did you know the parables of Jesus in the New Testament are deeply connected to Haggadic midrash? To truly understand these parables, it's essential to trace their origins back to the Hebrew Scriptures. This course equips you with the skills to:

• Unlock hidden layers of meaning within scripture and parables.

Mastering these skills allows for a profound appreciation of both Jewish tradition and Christian teachings.
