How to draw and paint clown fish

Learn to paint stunning clownfish and delicate jellyfish with watercolors! This comprehensive class guides you through the process, from fundamental drawing skills to advanced watercolor techniques, resulting in a beautiful seascape painting.

Here's what you'll discover:

• Drawing Clownfish in Pencil: Master the initial step of sketching clownfish accurately. This foundational skill is crucial for guiding the entire painting process, from applying masking fluid to painting the water and the fish themselves.
• Masking Fluid Mastery: Understand and utilize masking fluid (also known as rubber cement) to create crisp, clean edges in your artwork. Learn why it's essential for separating elements and preserving highlights. Discover how to apply it effectively – a thin, even coat is key! We'll cover brush preparation for optimal application. Remember to let the masking fluid dry completely before applying watercolor, and remove it only after the watercolor is dry.
• Wet-on-Wet Watercolor Technique: Explore the beautiful effects of the wet-on-wet technique. This involves applying watercolor to damp paper for soft, blended washes. Learn how to maintain consistency throughout your painting session, or how to refresh the paper for extended work.
• Wet-on-Dry Watercolor Technique for Detail: Develop precision and depth by applying watercolor to dry paper. This technique allows for intricate details and layering, creating richer colors and realistic effects. Understand the importance of allowing each layer to dry fully before adding the next – a key to achieving depth and volume.

By the end of this class, you'll have created a captivating seascape featuring beautifully rendered clownfish and ethereal jellyfish. We encourage you to share your finished artwork with us and the community!
