Who is this course for?

This class is perfect if you love to experiment with traditional art media in your sketchbook but feel unsure about how to create visually appealing layouts. We'll explore easy methods for achieving pleasing sketchbook spreads, boosting your confidence and inspiring your artistic journey.

What you’ll need:

Gather your supplies! You'll need:

• A sketchbook – explore different types to find your favorite!
• Art supplies: Colored pencils, paints, brush pens, paint pens, soft pastels, oil pastels, neocolors, graphite pencils, pens – use what you have or treat yourself to something new!
• Paint supplies (if using paint): Water, palette, and paint brushes.
• A rag for cleanup.

What you’ll learn:

In this class, I'll share fun activities and exercises to enhance your art skills within your sketchbook. You'll discover:

• An overview of different types of sketchbooks and my preferred choices.
• My favorite art materials – and a link to my Mixed Media Class for deeper dives!
• Effective tape techniques for adding dimension and interest.
• How to find inspiration for sketchbook spreads from other artists and adapt them to your own style.
• My personal process for creating designed, pleasing, and pretty spreads.
