Άκρα Ταπείνωση, σχεδίαση και ζωγραφική

This course is designed for individuals with some prior experience in Byzantine iconography. It's also ideal for those already practicing iconography who want to enhance their artistic technique.

Due to the complexities involved in depicting the body of Christ, this course presents a slightly higher level of difficulty compared to other Byzantine iconography lessons available. We recommend completing a foundational Byzantine iconography course prior to tackling this one, specifically "The Humiliation" course, to build a solid base.

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to paint any image in the Byzantine style. A free course on egg tempera preparation is also available on the platform, as this is a crucial element for Byzantine painting.

The course progresses through a structured approach: starting with drawing the subject without using photocopies or projectors, relying instead on detailed instructions and drawing principles. This focuses on developing your drawing skills. Next, you'll learn underpainting techniques, applying colors to the surface. Finally, you'll move on to the actual painting process.

The required colors include: white, black, madder red, ochre, kynamone, ultramarine blue, cobalt blue, cement green, and lemon yellow. While traditional egg tempera is recommended, you can substitute with acrylic paints, but avoid using oils.

We wish you the best in your artistic journey! Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
