Ecologie general

Explore the fascinating world of general ecology! This course delves into the fundamental principles governing life on Earth, providing a comprehensive understanding of how living organisms interact with their environment.

You'll begin by grasping core ecological concepts, including:

• Ecosystems: Learn what defines an ecosystem and its intricate components.
• Biocenoses & Biotopes: Understand the difference between biological communities (biocenoses) and their physical surroundings (biotopes).
• Ecological Factors: Discover the influence of both biotic factors (living organisms) and abiotic factors (non-living components) on ecological systems.
• Communities: Explore various types of living communities, such as phytocenoses (plant communities) and zoocenoses (animal communities), and the concept of biomes.

The course then examines the diverse fields of ecology, providing a broad perspective on the subject. A key focus is on the structure and functioning of ecosystems, essential for comprehending natural environments and the communities they support. We'll investigate:

• Ecological Interactions: Analyze the various relationships between living organisms and their environment, including competition, predation, and symbiosis.
• Energy Transfer & Nutrient Cycles: Understand how energy flows through ecosystems, the concept of ecosystem productivity (rendements), and the importance of biogeochemical cycles.
• Trophic Levels: Explore food chains and food webs (réseaux trophiques), highlighting the roles of primary producers (autotrophs) and consumers (heterotrophs) in energy transfer.

Finally, we'll journey through the major terrestrial biomes of our planet, gaining insights into their unique characteristics and the life they support.

Thank you for joining us on this exploration of ecological principles!
