Course Content

Креативный скетчинг is an intermediate-level Udemy course taught by Inna Pavlecka-Tumarkin. It runs 43m, is taught in Russian, and includes a certificate of completion. It is a paid course, first published April 2021.

Discover the beauty of watercolor techniques in my new course! Learn to create captivating compositions by merging graphite and watercolor – a harmonious blend that produces light, recognizable urban imagery. This course delves into the elegance and finesse of watercolor painting, a truly refined artistic discipline.

Master the essential elements of watercolor: achieving luminosity while maintaining transparency, preserving clean paper in highlights, and skillfully rendering shadows.

Our first project: a charming spring scene of a small Austrian village in the Wachau region, featuring a central church bathed in the light of a clear spring day. This picturesque rural landscape showcases a quintessential Austrian village, appearing almost like a toy. We'll explore how to depict village architecture without meticulously drawing every detail, combining smooth graphic lines with delicate watercolor accents to emphasize light and shadow. The final touch involves enhancing the scene with artistic colored pencil shading, highlighting roofs and architectural elements.

The second composition builds upon architectural themes, introducing figures in the foreground. We'll create a compelling contrast between groups of people and the village backdrop, using the interplay of light (illuminated church spire and houses) against subtle blue vineyard tones and darker human silhouettes. This project focuses on achieving dynamic light and shadow within your painting, integrating graphic elements like marker drawing as an equal component.

To solidify your skills, I encourage you to explore further with additional projects in this technique. I hope you'll find this approach inspiring and create a series of beautiful artworks. Remember to frame your finished pieces under glass to preserve the vibrancy of the colors.

Warmly, Inna.
