The Certified Information Systems Security Officer certification training originated from a collaborative initiative between the DND – Department of National Defence of Canada and the DOD – Department of Defense of the United States, formalized in the CANUS CDISM MOU (ID#: 1974100118). This initiative highlights the critical role of the CDRSN National Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and the Director Information Management Security (DIMSECUR) in security assessment and approval processes.

Exam Information:

The Certified Information Systems Security Officer exam is administered online through Mile2’s Assessment and Certification System (MACS), accessible via your mile2 account. The exam is 2 hours long and consists of 100 multiple-choice questions. The exam cost is $400 USD, payable directly to Mile2.

Requirements:

• 1 year of experience in at least 2 modules OR
• 1 year of experience in IS management
