Basic Differential Equations

Differential equations are a cornerstone of mathematical modeling, providing a powerful way to describe how physical systems change over time. From the fundamental laws of physics and chemistry to the complexities of biology and economics, these equations are essential. You'll find them used to analyze everything from consumer and producer surplus in economics to the spread of diseases like COVID-19 in biology.

This course focuses on First-Order Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs), the foundational building block for understanding more advanced concepts. While differential equations extend to second and higher orders, and encompass techniques like the Laplace Transformation, Fourier Methods, and Partial Differential Equations, a solid understanding of first-order ODEs is crucial.

We'll prioritize a deep comprehension of the core concepts, equipping you with the practical skills to solve first-order differential equations effectively.

Prerequisites: A strong foundation in both differential calculus and integral calculus is recommended for success in this course.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

• Solve fundamental first-order differential equations.
• Apply your knowledge of differential equations to real-world problems in your field of study.
• Gain a solid understanding of the principles behind mathematical modeling.
