About the Instructor: Dr. Hiroyo Takayama

Dr. Hiroyo Takayama is a highly respected expert in Kampo medicine with decades of experience.

• Education: Graduated from Kyushu University School of Medicine in 1962.
• Career: Joined the Third Internal Medicine Department at Kyushu University in 1963. Began self-study of herbal medicine in 1969. Worked in internal medicine at Fukuoka Torikai Hospital before establishing the Takayama Clinic in Fukuoka City in 1974.
• Mentorship: Studied under Dr. Mutsumune Terashi in 1982. Joined the Kampo Sanko Juku (Dr. Terashi's school) in 1984.
• Awards & Recognition: Received the Japan Eastern Medicine Association Encouragement Award in 2005.
• Retirement & Continued Contributions: Retired from his position as director in 2016 and now dedicates himself to lectures and writing.
• Key Publications: Author of numerous influential books, including "Kampo Common Formulas Commentary," "Kampo Formula Studies," "Basics and Clinical Applications of Kampo," "Kampo for Nourishing Life," and "Let's Read Shang Han Lun."
