ACT ONE: Beginning Your Acting Career

Ready to break into the acting industry? Feeling overwhelmed by auditions, finding an agent, or creating compelling headshots and demos? Act One is your comprehensive guide to navigating the world of acting.

This 3-hour workshop demystifies the entire process, providing essential knowledge for aspiring actors. We'll cover a wide range of topics, including:

• Understanding the Acting Business: Learn how the industry truly works, from the initial steps to securing roles.
• Marketing Materials: Get practical examples and guidance on crafting effective headshots and acting demos that showcase your talent.
• On-Set Experience: Discover strategies to gain valuable experience and build your resume.
• ACTRA (Canadian Actors' Union): Understand the role of ACTRA and how it impacts your career as a Canadian actor.

Whether your goal is to become a film actor, land lucrative commercial acting gigs, or explore voice acting for AAA video games, Act One equips you with the understanding of what to expect and what's required to succeed.

What Act One is Not:

It's crucial to understand what this workshop doesn't offer:

• Guaranteed Success: We don't make promises of overnight fame or fortune. The acting career path demands dedication, perseverance, and hard work.
• A Traditional Acting Class: This isn't an "acting course" focused on technique. While I have experience teaching acting workshops in Montreal, Act One is primarily focused on the business and process of becoming a professional actor.
• Easy Road to Success: Building a successful acting career requires consistent effort, including numerous unpaid auditions, proactive outreach, and continuous updating of your marketing materials.
