Meet James Divine: Your Guide to a More Fulfilling Life

There once was a young boy named Jimmy, encouraged by his mom to dream big – a policeman, a doctor, even President! I, James Divine, exceeded those expectations, becoming a music teacher.

Now a proud husband of my high school sweetheart and a grandfather of nine, I cherish simple joys like pizza, mountain biking, family time, and long walks in the mountains (reserved for one special person!). (And yes, my shoe size is 9.5, but please, no unsolicited shoes!)

I currently teach middle school music at a Title I school, while also pursuing my passions for speaking, writing, and podcasting.

My Background & Expertise

Beyond the personal, I bring a wealth of experience to this course. I hold a bachelor’s degree from St. Joseph’s College in Maine and received my music education training from the prestigious Army School of Music, completing basic, intermediate, and advanced courses over a decade, serving in Virginia, Japan, and Colorado. I retired from the Colorado National Guard in 2006.

My credentials include a teaching license from Western State University in Colorado and a master’s degree in music education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. I am a firm believer in life-long learning, though I'm not a fan of standardized testing!
